Pandemic Mama, a one-of-a-kind, immersive performance unpacking stories of motherhood during the COVID-19 pandemic, features original dance, theatre, music, and film. The complex, multifaceted experiences of pregnant people and mothers grappling with the multitude of expectations, fears, disappointments, unexpected joys, and dynamically changed (and changing) lives during this pandemic era is a momentous cultural phenomenon deserving of deep exploration. Using interview data from women across the South Plains of Texas, this production features an original devised film and includes segments of live dance, theatre, music, and immersive arts and storytelling experiences.
